The Value Stream Mapping (VSM) process will develop a strategy for the deployment of Lean principles, systems and tolls based on the findings from the Current State Map. It provides a local roadmap based on the principles of flow, stability, building in quality and continuous improvement.
A3 PPS enables problem solvers to capture all the relevant information on one page. It is purposefully designed to ensure the approach is concise. If it cannot be conveyed on one page of A3 the solution is likely to be unclear.
The purpose of CI Strips is to provide a mechanism for the identification and implementation of ideas to remove waste from the operation.
The strips provide a common method, usable at all levels to manage the generation of ideas and the control of their evaluation and implementation.

A Standardised Work Sheet is a collection of JESs, and describes the work one person must do, as a series of “Whats”.

Kaizen strips are an indicator of how well continuous improvement is doing in the organisation. They are a visual tool kept in the Information Centres that provide status tracking, knowledge sharing, and the ability for teams to share ideas.
